1. Overview & Heritage Commitment

Ouk Chaktrang (អុកខ្មែរ) is an independent digital heritage project dedicated to Cambodian chess. We respect player privacy and operate with a strict privacy-first principle: we do not sell your personal data, and we do not embed third-party advertising tracking networks.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect the minimal information necessary to deliver authenticated gameplay, real-time multiplayer, and season rankings:

• Player Profile: Display name, chosen avatar cosmetic, country flag, and player public ID.
• Gameplay Statistics: Match records (wins, draws, losses), Elo ratings, tournament standings, and move notations for replay functionality.
• Optional Cloud Sign-In: When you connect via Google Sign-In, we store your Google account email and unique account ID solely for cloud progress synchronization.
• Push Notifications: Device push tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging) solely to alert you of incoming match invites or tournament starts if enabled in your settings.
• Real-Time Voice Channels: Voice communications during friendly and ranked matches operate over peer-to-peer WebRTC connections. Audio streams are direct and are never recorded or stored on our servers.
• Public chat: Other players can see a message for 3m. The server keeps a moderation copy for 24h, then deletes it. A report keeps that message and up to 5 earlier and 5 later messages for 180d, then that copy is deleted too. Voice is not recorded.
• App bug reports: If you send one, the server keeps your note, your account id, the app version, the network address, and the match id when you send it from a finished game, for 180d.

3. How We Use Information

Your information is used strictly to:

• Facilitate fair, server-authoritative matchmaking and leaderboard calculation.
• Synchronize unlockable boards, skins, and cosmetic achievements across your devices.
• Prevent cheating, automated exploitation, and ensure respectful community behavior.

4. Global Leaderboards & Public Score Upload

When you participate in online matches (Ranked, Tournament, or Friendly), your match results, rating, display name, avatar, and country flag are uploaded to our server and published on the public Global Leaderboard. By continuing to use the application and playing multiplayer matches, you consent to this public display of your competitive game scores and profile.

5. Data Storage, Security & Retention

All game data and progress state are securely stored on encrypted, dedicated self-hosted server infrastructure with TLS 1.3 encryption in transit. We retain game match history to power the player replay and season leaderboards.

6. Account Deletion & Data Rights

You have full ownership of your data. You may request account deletion at any time directly within the game application:

• Open Profile → Settings → Delete Account.
• You can schedule deletion with a 30-day grace period or cancel it at any time before completion.
• Upon permanent deletion, your linked email, credentials, and player profile are irreversibly purged.

7. Children's Privacy

Ouk Chaktrang does not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. Guest play requires no personal identity, email, or credentials.
